City of Chester Archers is thrilled to announce a boost in funding, thanks to a £1,158 grant from The Marshes Community Benefit Fund. This funding will allow us to train two new coaches and reserve Frodsham Leisure Centre's sports hall for upcoming beginner sessions. With this support, the club will offer at least 15 new beginners the opportunity to start their archery journey, and we’ll have additional coaches to lead future programs and help our current members advance their skills.
City of Chester Archers has long been committed to promoting target archery across all groups, including under-25s, juniors, and archers with disabilities. As a friendly local club, we attract newcomers from around the area, but joining requires a six-week course to ensure everyone meets the Archery GB standards of safety and competency.
This funding from The Marshes Community Benefit Fund, associated with Frodsham Windfarm, helps local projects and community groups flourish by distributing up to £170,000 annually across two cycles. We are deeply grateful for their support in helping us build a stronger, more inclusive archery community in Chester.
